Nigerian Based Internet Service Provider Startup Tizeti with the Face Wifi.com.ng have just announced a Successful $3M Series A Funding in a Round lead by 4DX Ventures.

4DX Ventures is a new Africa focused fund raising platform with companies such as Sokowatch and Andela onboard.

This new Series A Funding follows Tizeti’s successful seed investment of $2.1M reported last year. With investors such as Y Combinator Continuity, Lynett Capital, Social Capital, Western Technology Investment and the likes (from the previous year seed funding) fully involved with the latest.

Tizeti will be looking to expand its wifi.com.ng outside Nigeria to places like Ghana with wifi.africa

According to Walter Badoo who has now joined the Tizeti Team as Cofounder

He says “If you take the efficiency of point to multipoint wireless technology and you add to that solar infrastructure, you leap-frog a generation of infrastructure. That makes getting cheap data to the hands of customers much easier,”

Over the last couple of years, Wifi.com.ng has grown to cover about 70% of Lagos with over 7,000 public Wifi hotspots within Nigeria and 150,000 users over the last year.
